The EHCB Coaches Academy is entering its 7th generation with the same goals. In a very short time, our alumni can be seen already making strides in their careers, given new opportunities and excelling in their individual career paths.
Our online program allows participating coaches to access all lectures, both live and recorded, from anywhere in the world at any time, while continuing their daily work. Coaches learn from the best professors and head coaches, and network with coaches from around the globe.
Partnering with the University of Belgrade Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, we built a curriculum aimed at teaching the fundamentals of basketball coaching from the very best in the game.

The EHCB Coaches Academy was created with one clear mission: to make elite basketball coaching education reachable by coaches at every level, anywhere in the world.
For decades that knowledge was gated by geography, by who you happened to know, and by what you could afford. The Academy connects ambitious coaches directly with the most respected minds in European and international basketball — university professors, EuroLeague head and assistant coaches, strength and conditioning staff, club doctors and elite referees.
It is not simply a certificate. Participants are asked to think critically, to reflect on how they already coach, and to leave with tools they can use on Monday. In six years, more than 900 coaches have graduated.

Understand the athlete University of Belgrade — general academic lectures
Great coaching starts with understanding the body of the athlete. Key concepts in anatomy, physiology, biology, psychology, motor abilities and sport science — the knowledge needed to support player development and performance.
Understand the game University of Belgrade — basketball academic lectures
The foundations of the renowned Serbian and former Yugoslav basketball school: offensive and defensive philosophies, tactical frameworks, teaching methods and game understanding — the principles that shaped generations of elite players and coaches.
Understand your opponent EuroLeague assistant coaches — scouting
From opponent analysis and game planning to video breakdowns and scouting reports: how elite organisations turn information into competitive advantage, through real examples and practical video work.
Understand performance ESCCA — strength & conditioning
Performance development, workload management and recovery, taught by strength and conditioning coaches from EuroLeague clubs. How professional organisations keep players healthy and performing across a whole season. Availability is the greatest ability.
Understand officiating UEBO — EuroLeague referees
See the game through the eyes of the referee. Game management, rule interpretation and decision-making at the highest level of European basketball. Understanding how referees evaluate a situation improves communication and reduces misunderstanding — great coaches understand more than their own team.
Understand player health EuroLeague doctors — medical lectures
The connection between player health, availability and long-term performance. Medical staff from EuroLeague clubs on rehabilitation, player monitoring and injury prevention.
Understand leadership EHCB members — online lectures
The most respected coaches in professional basketball on what leadership at the highest level actually means: how EuroLeague, NBA and EuroCup head coaches build cultures, overcome setbacks and sustain success.
Where theory meets the court EHCB Coaches Congress 2027
Meet in person the lecturers you knew over Zoom, at masterclasses and member practices, and challenge them with what you have learned. Every Academy participant attends the Congress free — the biggest gathering of basketball intelligence in Europe.

How much does the 7th Generation cost?
€2,000 — includes access to all content and the EHCB Coaches Congress. You can pay in full or in two installments.

Where does the program take place?
The Academy is online for basketball coaches worldwide. In June/July 2026 participants meet in person for the annual EHCB Coaches Congress in Athens.
Is this a full-time program?
No. Lectures are live and recorded, so working coaches can continue their daily routine.
Can I receive a scholarship?
Scholarships may be available on review of special requests. After applying online, email academy@headcoaches.org with your request.
The faculty
For the seventh year running, the University of Sports and Physical Education in Belgrade partners with the Academy, delivering its lectures online and in English — a college that was previously reachable only in person.
Its founder, Professor Aleksandar Nikolić, built the college to educate coaches from the former Yugoslavia. He could not have known he was laying a footprint for Božidar Maljković, Dušan Ivković and founding EHCB President Željko Obradović. The programme is now global.

What if one week could change how you coach?
The EHCB Practice Week is an optional add-on for Academy participants: time inside a professional organisation — EuroLeague, NBA, or a college programme — watching training sessions and team meetings, and talking to the coaching and performance staff who run them.

After the Academy
EHCB Alumni
Finishing the Academy does not have to be the end of it. Alumni stay inside EHCB — on the Congress floor, in the Video Platform, and on Practice Weeks — alongside the coaches they studied with and the ones who taught them.
The programme is open only to coaches who have completed the EHCB Coaches Academy. Every application is read by the EHCB team.
